easter parade

spending easter
on my keister
contemplating life

the ups, and downs,
merry-go-rounds
of which each day is rife

what for I wonder
battles and plunder
fueling hate and strife

when no one wins
against the sins
of satan and his wife

now war drums beat
as children bleat
like piccolos and fifes

such pain insane
it seems inane
to justify the knife

yet on we go
killing our foes
who also love to fight

with gas and guns,
just for fun
long into the night

our global bosses
nailed to crosses
fail to see the light

while throngs applaud
to honour gods
center, left and right
