cheated

Ever have one of those days, weeks, months, years or even lifetimes? Feel like fate is against you? Want to kick its ass? Me too.

This poem is about that.

cheated

my self is blown to smithereens
i’m scattered everywhere
bits and pieces fly about
debris in thinning air

the things i crave i may not have
they’re just beyond my reach
too high up, or buried deep,
or strewn along some beach

if i am ever back together
i swear i will not sin
and re-incur the wrath of god
no, next time i will win
