Just for fun, Motorcycles, Poetry, Writing

in pieces

Sometimes, conversations I have with people (and sometimes the people themselves), inspire me to write poetry.

Actually, I often feel like I don’t write the poems, but that they write themselves. The words kinda’ flow from my fingertips into the keyboard and then onto the ‘page.’ A little bit of tweaking ensues and then voila! a poem.

The subject matter of such poems is usually only relevant to me and the other person whose words, thoughts or actions have been my inspiration.

This poem is one of those. Its purpose is to bring joy to the person who inspired it and to me as the person who was the conduit through which it was born(e).

Still, if you are here and reading this, there’s a chance this piece may resonate with you too.

Read here:

in pieces

pieces scattered on the ground
once were lost, and now are found

delivered here from near and far
on the tails of shooting stars

how they fit is still unknown
the answer lies in the twilight zone

a place in space where dark meets light
and The Force restores one’s sight

knowing flows like from a tap
there’s no more need for google maps

ride country roads that twist and turn
live the freedom for which others yearn

cocoon in trees while crickets sing
relish the wisdom dreams will bring

solve counting riddles in your sleep
and make adventures yours to seek

put all the puzzles back together
in poems and bikes and weathered leather
