Adventure, Friendship, Just for fun, Motorcycles

nick around town

We stopped, chilled and snacked for a healthy portion of our six and a half hours in the Highlands.

blah blah blah

In fact, Sunday, October 19, was probably the windiest I’d been out in for at least two years. ‘Windy’ as in you’re fighting to keep your bike upright on the road.  I was glad to be riding two-up with Jacques – he was doing the hard work while I sat behind him trying to enjoy the spectacular fall colours.

Had it not been for the 25-km winds — punctuated by frequent and much stronger gusts — it would have been a PERFECT fall riding day: sunny and warm, the bluest of skies. Mind-blowingly beautiful. Except for the wind, LOL.

We were meant to leave my place at 11 am, but Jacques’ FJR had an issue that required some tweaking. NP, because Chawn and Sandy (who, like me, was riding pillion) were slightly behind schedule. The group grew by one when we randomly met Guy at the Timmy’s in Perth. He joined us to go up Bennett Lake Road to McDonald’s Corners and eventually to Antrim Truck Stop in Arnprior for a bite to eat.

Great day, great ride, great folks. Sadly, it might have been my last of the season… 🙁

That said, there’s always hope!
