Adventure, Friendship, Just for fun, Motorcycles

one amazing weekend, two awesome highlands loops

Suddenly, it seemed like summer again in the Ontario Highlands.

And everyone with the time, inclination and a motorcycle – including me and The Crew – were on a Ride the Highlands mission: get out, get going and ride as far as you can.

There were motorcycles everywhere: solo riders, pairs of riders, folks riding two-up (like me), little groups, big groups, sports bikes, cruisers, three-wheelers – all of us enjoying what can only be described as a spectacular two-day extravaganza of autumnal glory combined with unseasonably warm temperatures. It was absolutely awesome.

On Saturday, I left my place on the back of Jacques’ FJR. Unfortunately, my Relive malfunctioned, which I didn’t notice until we had gone up Wolfgrove Road, over to Clayton, up Tatlock Road and right on the 511 to Calabogie. When I took my phone out of my pocket at The Bogie General Store, it told me we had travelled only 1 km when in fact we’d already ridden 60 kms. So the Relive video below starts in Bogie.

From the General store we went to Barry’s Bay, Quadeville, Renfrew and back to Almonte; thus:

And then on Sunday, Jacques and I did a loop to Westport and went down Lally road where I collided with the ditch on July 2, 2024.

All in all, a fabulous weekend 🙂
