old and new friends ride the highlands again :)
I was so exhausted all day Friday that I didn’t know if I would be able to ride – even two up! – the next day.
But I got an unusually long sleep (eight hours) on Friday night and woke up feeling half human in the morning. Peter Bailey was meant to join Jacques and me, but sadly had to bow out last minute. Happily, Ron Ryan, whom I hadn’t ridden with in two years, stepped in to fill the space.
Ron was one of the first people who rode with me and took me pillion when I first started motorcycling. In fact, he introduced me to some of the great Ride the Highlands roads comprising parts of our Saturday loop: Pinnacle Road (from the 417 to the 60 leading into Renfrew) and Pucker Street (from the Burnstown Road just outside of Renfrew to Whelan Road heading into Calabogie).
It was a bit cool, cloudy at times, and relatively short distance-wise. Nevertheless, I ended up having to take a roadside nap on at the Bogie General Store. Ron captured me snoozing (framed by his bike of course!) for posterity.
Grateful for the fabulous fall day riding with an old and newer friend.
Thanks guys <3
