Note: This post is for information only and based on the facts as I know them at 10:00 am on Sunday, April 9, 2023. I will update the post if and when required.

Almonte residents in close proximity to Augusta Street Park were sent notices dated March 29, 2023, regarding the extensions of Adelaide and Augusta Streets to service a proposed development. Residents began received the notice by post on Thursday April 6, 2023.

The notice comprised these pages:

Residents who received the notice have until May 1 to make objections / voice their opinions with respect to the proposal.

I live five (5) blocks from Augusta Street Park and I will be affected by the proposed extension of Augusta Street through the park. However, I did not receive a notice.

I object to the extension of Augusta Street through the park; it is unnecessary and it will adversely impact the park as well as the park’s users.

I have emailed Julie Stewart, the Lanark County planner named in the notice as follows:

If you object to Augusta Street being extended through Augusta Street Park, please send your own email to the planner with a cc to

If you wish to participate in additional actions to ensure this proposed extension does not happen, please email me at
