blogger offers choice of snow lump stories

I woke up this morning to a giant snow lump in my driveway. The sight caused me to laugh out loud.

Is the universe trying to send me a message? I wondered.

I laughed again. It was too funny. I went out and took some pics. Then I wrote up three versions of the story. Two are fictional.

#1 Sloppy street cleaning leaves driveway blocked by giant snow lump

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I woke up this morning,” Ms Black told this reporter. “I looked out my window and there was a huge lump of snow blocking my driveway. I had planned on going out this morning, but there was no way for me to go anywhere.”

Ms Grey doesn’t know for sure how the lump of snow got there, but she has a theory.

“I think the snow removal crew that cleared the sidewalk in the middle of the night may have put it there intentionally. Just to piss me off.” She growled. “They’re always doing stupid shit like that. It makes me so angry. And the noise of those plows and trucks and snowblowers in the middle of the night is enough to drive you crazy. Not to mention the flashing lights!”

#2 Mystery snow lump blocks senior’s driveway

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I woke up this morning,” Ms Grey told this reporter. “I looked out my window and there was a huge lump of snow blocking my driveway. I had planned on going shopping this morning, but there was no way for me to get my car out.”

Ms Grey doesn’t know for sure how the lump of snow got there, but she has a theory.

“They came and cleaned the sidewalks last night. I heard them go by,” she said. “I’m really thankful to the snow-clearing crews, they do a great job under challenging conditions. Especially when we have big storms and there’s lots of snow. Somehow this lump got left behind. I’m going to call the municipality to see if they will come and remove it.”

#3 Municipal worker rescues senior from giant snow lump

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I woke up this morning,” Ms White said with smile. “I looked out my window and there was a huge lump of snow blocking my driveway. I burst out laughing, it was so funny. I had planned to go shopping, but the plan changed. I would have to go and break up the big lump and shovel it off to the side. No big deal.”

“I went out to take some pictures of the snow lump to put on Facebook before I dispatched it. While I was taking the pics, I noticed a little snowplow clearing the sidewalk in the next block. It’s amazing what a great job our municipal workers do on snow removal. I’m so impressed. And they do it in the night, which must be hard for them but it means less disruption to us during the day. The lump must have somehow got left behind when the crew was clearing last night.

“Anyway, I waved at the snowplow driver and he came down and pushed the big lump of snow to the side. Wasn’t that kind of him? I thought it was. Everyone from the town is always so helpful. I love living here.”

Life sucks much less when I change my attitude and perspective.

Still often sucks. Just much less 🙂
