6 ways motorcycle riding improves mental health

A fellow rider shared New Year’s wishes in one of the Facebook rider groups I belong to.

His words resonated with me and sparked the poetry pixies to pick up their (figurative) pens and write.

This poem is the result. Happy New Year <3

one good ride

Read here:

one good ride

one good ride stills the mind
sets the spirit free
dispatches inner goblins
produces lib/er/tee

one good ride heals the mind
mends a broken soul
stitches it with moto thread
until it’s safe and whole

one good ride cleanses the mind
sweeps out all the clutter
leaves unwanted thoughts and stuff
in some roadside gutter

one good ride saves the mind
soon rids a self of fear
draws endless power from the wind
and holds it ever near

one good ride calms the mind
causes it to be reflective
lifts the fog, clears the air
puts things in perspective

one good ride fuels the mind
fills a heart with joy
makes a biker sing and dance
and get more two-wheeled toys
