Challenges, Just for fun, Motorcycles, Poetry

writing is a thing i do

This week’s Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers – Chapter 011 photographic challenge was to take a pic of yourself in your gear, with your ride and an item that spoke to an interest you have. In a previous post related to the same challenge, I talked about flower arranging.

Well, I also love to write poetry, especially rhyming poetry, especially in the style of Dr. Seuss. So I wrote a poem about combining writing poetry with riding motorcycles and I transcribed the poem onto the TheTwin’s gas tank — artsy people do shit like that LOL 😛 — and I asked my friend James to take a pic. He took several, one of which you may see above and below.

Then I recorded the poem for your listening pleasure. Click on the bar to hear it.

Read here:

writing is a thing i do
started at the age of two
i love to make words dance and rhyme,
move in rhythm, keep the time

this talent i have since combined
with riding next to painted lines
broken, solid, white and yellow
shifting moods from sharp to mellow

first i ride and then i write
from just past dawn to late at night
lucky me to live my passions
on a road where #PINK’s in fashion

Unfortunately, when I looked closely at the great pics James took, I discovered a typo – a misspelled word. Can you find it in the pic below?

I hate it when that happens 🙂
