bad weather blues
It’s April 24, 2024.
When I wake up, the first thing I do is open the blinds and look out the window.
It’s snowing. S.N.O.W.I.N.G.
WTF. Sigh.
Ten minutes later, I find a message from my friends at Grass Point Lodge B&B in Newboro, Ontario, about an hour’s ride from where I am: “This weather sucks,” the message says. “We had snow flurries this morning.”
That’s all it took for this bad weather bit to bubble to the surface:

oh no no no. It’s time to go!
we’ve had enough – please, no more snow
we’ve waited hours, days and weeks
a clean, clear road is what we seek
but weather gods keep rolling dice
monday’s stormy and tuesday’s nice
one day it might be minus three
and then the next up in the teens
this rollercoaster fries our brains
we’re getting even more insane
our bikes are ready, we’ve got new gear
give us sun to dry our tears
we need a universal magic wand
to open up blue skies beyond!
