Humour, Just for fun, Love, Motorcycles, Poetry

write #bikerpoetry & win #bigmoney!

“This has you written all over it,” a friend joked when he sent me a link to the Toronto Spring Motorcycle Show’s Second Annual Biker Poetry Contest.

He was right. I love writing #bikerpoetry.

I immediately visited the Spring Motorcycle Show’s Facebook page and was excited by what I found.

In short:

submit three poems (for free)

and become eligible to potentially read your poem at the spring show

AND maybe win a $200 cash prize for first place

Yep. #IMIN.

One commenter on the FB post quipped that he’d already “written” nearly a half dozen books while riding but wasn’t sure about poetry. So I put together a few stanzas to encourage him. Listen or read below.

I hope they will inspire him (and you!) to send in an entry.

Contest deadline is March 14, 2023. Click here to enter.

Read here:
#bikerpoetry

wrote twenty books
while on my bike
all of which
are now out of sight

they rode along
inside my head,
were never published
and thus not read

now it’s time
to pen some poems
from the comfort
of my home

and win some cash
for scribbled pages
that i’ll recite
on moto stages!
